Changeover Switch (COS) is an electrical device used to transfer electrical power from the main electricity source (PLN) to a backup electricity source (Genset) and vice versa. Changeover Switch is an important electrical device for installation with generators.

There are 2 types of Changeover Switch, namely manual Changeover Switch and motorized Changeover Switch. The manual changeover switch will function to move electrical power by operating it manually, namely turning the ohm handle of the switch towards the PLN or Genset. Manual changeover switches have a complete range of ampere options, from 16 Ampere to 1250 Ampere, which can be adjusted to the PLN electrical power and generator power used. Motorized Changeover Switch can automatically transfer electrical power between PLN and Genset. Motorized changeover switches are equipped with motors that can transfer power automatically without needing to turn the switch's ohm handle. Motorized Changeover Switches are generally assembled on ATS-AMF (Automatic Transfer Switch - Automatic Mains Failure) panels. With a motorized changeover switch and ATS-AMF panel, if the PLN power goes out, the panel will turn on the generator and move the changeover switch to the generator automatically, and vice versa, once the PLN electricity comes back on, the panel will turn off the generator and return the COS position to PLN automatically.

Changeover Switches L&T - Schneider Electric are available in Sheet Steel housings with adequate Space for cable termination so no additional cable entry box is required. The cable gland plate is also equipped with a switch. The enclosure provides IP 54 protection.

• Changeover Switch L&T - Schneider Electric is suitable for HRC fuses

Changeover Switches L&T - Schneider Electric for open execution can easily convert to a combined version on site using a fuse conversion kit. It provides the benefits of overload and short circuit protection through the fastest preservation device fuse, and is suitable for cylinder & blade type (DIN) fuse links.

Changeover Switch L&T - Schneider Electric is available in Motorized version with 240 Vac volume control. Manual Changeover Switches can be easily replaced with Motorized Changeovers without changing any electrical panel dimensions.
