1. Protection from overcurrent

Overcurrent occurs when the current flowing exceeds the maximum capacity that can be tolerated by the system or equipment. This can happen for various reasons, such as a fault in the wiring or a sudden increase in electrical load. The air circuit breaker will cut off electricity when it detects this condition, protecting equipment from damage.

2. Protection from short circuit

A short circuit is a condition in which electric current flows through a path that has low resistance, usually due to electric wires meeting directly without any resistance. This can cause very high current increases, which can damage equipment and even cause a fire. The air circuit breaker detects and cuts off electricity in this condition.

3. Manual disconnect

The air circuit breaker also allows manual circuit breaking. This is especially useful in situations where maintenance or repairs need to be carried out on the electrical system, allowing the circuit to be broken and eliminating the risk of electric shock.

4. Fault clearing

In the case of a disturbance or 'fault' in the system, the air circuit breaker not only cuts off the electricity but also helps in the 'fault clearing' process. This means they help isolate problematic parts of the system.

So, the main purpose of an air circuit breaker is to ensure the safety of the electrical system and equipment connected to it, as well as prevent potentially dangerous situations such as fires due to short circuits or excessive current.

2. BT3 High Breaking Capacity

Characteristics :

• Nominal current (In) = 2000A to 6300A
• Breaking capacity 85kA to 120kA at 415/440V AC voltage
• Standard equipment with motor, closing coil and shunt trip.
• Standard IEC 60947-2
• Long time, Short time, Instantaneous disconnection protection
• LED indicator, MCR Function and Neutral protection
• Current Measurement
